Yes, in American TV shows, it is very common to see the way people greet each other. But it's the same everywhere, it's rare to see men wearing foot accessories. But who cares? If we like it, we should satisfy ourselves and make ourselves happy. I also have all kinds of accessories on my feet.

Here, most people are in China, and the way people socialize might be different. They wouldn't compliment someone's foot accessories at all, unless it's in a romantic relationship. Here in the USA it strongly depends. I have gotten good and bad looks, or people don't know what to say. It took my wife some time as well. I wear more jewelry thank her as well. The USA is quite progressive , however you still do t see many ankle bracelets on men. I wear ankle bracelets, wrist bracelets, nose ring and ear rings. 就是亲朋好友之间，看到会聊一下比如：你戴的是啥、挺好看的、有个性等等，如果关系不是很亲密，不会去聊脚上的东西
Translation: It's just something that friends and family talk about when they see each other, like "what are you wearing?" "It looks nice," "it's stylish," etc. If the relationship is not very close, they won't talk about what shoes you're wearing.
